Steven Donovan
My name is Steven Donovan and I am a Biripi / Dungutti man. I have been performing Aboriginal Dance for 5 years and I also play the Didgeridoo.
I currently have a dance troupe called Badu Dancers. We have performed at NAIDOC events and various local festivities in the Hastings area.
I have also performed at the Global Festival and most recently I performed and choreographed workshops at the Utopian Dream Dance Festival.
With the workshops I do, I like all participants to have an open mind and a willingness to learn and understand the importance of dance in Aboriginal Culture. You learn basic dance movements including animal actions/movements, stomping and shake-a-leg, and also get an understanding of rhythm, sounds and music.
